FIBERGLASS & ROCKWOOL BATT INSULATION FOR GWINNETT COUNTY HOMES

Batt insulation is the most cost-effective solution for new construction walls, attic floors, and floor cavities. Eco Spray Foam LLC installs both fiberglass batts — the most widely used option in Georgia — and Rockwool (mineral wool) batts, which offer superior fire resistance and sound dampening for garages, party walls, and home theaters.

We serve homeowners, builders, and contractors throughout Lawrenceville, Duluth, Buford, Dacula, Snellville, and all of Gwinnett County. Every installation includes proper air sealing of penetrations before the batts go in — the step most crews skip and the one that matters most.

💡 The Installation Detail That Matters

Fiberglass batts don’t air seal. We foam-seal all electrical boxes, plumbing penetrations, and top plates first. A batt without air sealing is like wearing a sweater with holes in it — the R-value on the bag means nothing if air is flowing freely around it.

WHERE BATT INSULATION WORKS BEST

🏗️ New Construction Walls

Open framing, easy to inspect, fast to install. The most common and cost-effective application in Gwinnett County new builds.

🔇 Interior Sound Walls

R-11 fiberglass or Rockwool between bedrooms and home offices. Rockwool is the premium choice for maximum sound dampening.

🔨 Additions & Renovations

Room additions and remodels where walls are open. Most economical way to insulate before drywall closes back up.

🏠 Attic Floors & Floor Cavities

R-30 batts between attic floor joists and floor cavities over crawlspaces — straightforward when access is available.

BATT INSULATION FAQ

  • R-13 minimum for 2×4 exterior walls, R-19 for 2×6 — both per Georgia Climate Zone 3A code. We recommend R-15 for 2×4 walls when budget allows; same cavity, 15% better performance.

  • $0.80 to $2.60 per square foot installed. Most wall projects run $1,100 to $3,900. Our minimum job size is $1,800. All estimates are completely free — call (678) 622-5682.

  • Yes. At 3.5" in a standard wall, open cell achieves STC 37–39 vs STC 33–35 for closed cell. The interconnected, porous structure absorbs acoustic energy rather than reflecting it. For any interior sound dampening application, open cell is the clear winner.

  • Faced batts have a kraft paper vapor retarder — always install with the facing toward the interior in Georgia. Unfaced goes in interior walls and anywhere a separate vapor barrier is already present.
